Code of Conduct


The Burnaby Tennis Club is a sociable, friendly club that respects the rights, dignity and worth of all club members regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.  Please help us to keep it that way by:


  • Being fair, considerate and honest in all dealings with others;
  • Refraining from the use of foul language, abusive outbursts and intimidating behaviour to any member;  
  • Wait for the buzzer to go off before entering the court and leave the court area as soon as the buzzer goes off;
  • Waiting until a suitable break in play to enter or leave a court if you arrive or leave before the buzzer goes off;
  • When playing in the club outdoor courts wait until a suitable break in play to enter or leave the courts;
  • Ensure there are no more than four people on a court at one time;
  • Leaving the clubhouse and courts as you would expect to find them; litter free, clean and tidy; 
  • Talking quietly near courts that are in use;
  • Not smoking or spitting in the bubble;
  • Wearing proper tennis attire at all times in the bubble and on the club outdoor courts.
